Verbier

Is Verbier now the hippest resort in Europe? - Conde Nast Traveller 2014

The answer has to be 'Yes' - Verbier, as one of the highest resorts in Switzerland and under 2 hours from Geneva Airport regularly benefits from some of the very best snow conditions in Europe. With the highest point of the ski region, Mont Fort, proudly standing at 3,330 metres from which you can see both the Matterhorn ad Mont Blanc in one panorama, there is an abundance of skiing for all levels. As the home of the World Freeriders, Verbier is renowned for some of the most exceptional off piste terrain, and as the gateway to the Four Valleys with over 400km of pistes and 100 lifts, there is something for everyone. A fabulous day out to the end of the Four Valleys takes you through an endless stream of Alpine villages or for the more adventurous, take a guide and explore some of the itinerary 'bump' routes or the Back side of Mont Fort for serious powder heaven experiences.

Chalet Petit Ours is also only a minute away from the Savoleyres lift, a joyful mountain of lovely cruising pistes, although even here there's some great powder to be had on a great snow day, and it's a secret away from the crowds! As a Petit Ours guest, there is also the opportunity to experience the gorgeous and exclusive 'Chalet Blanc', a private 'members only' restaurant and club.

Verbier is predominantly a chalet resort with an abundance of beautiful traditional homes in old wood and slate roofs. Even the hotels have been built beautifully and sympathetically to preserve this very pretty and very unique mountain resort. With cosy mountain restaurants, and arguably some of the best apres ski and nightlife in Europe, and an abundance of other outdoor activities, Verbier has something for everyone. The Farinet and Le Rouge are famous for their Apres scenes and if after dinner, you wish to hit the Verbier nightlife, try the famous Farinet Lounge, or 'Farm Club' where revellers dance until just a few hours before they need to get up to hit the slopes again.

For the outdoor enthusiasts, alongside the skiing, there's skinning, snow shoeing, parapenting, husky sledge rides, fantastic toboggan runs and so much more. For those who just want to unwind and relax, try any one of the fabulous spas in town or indulge in the private tranquility of the chalet with our own hamman suite, hot tub and your own personal masseuse.

Chalet Petit Ours is located just up above the Savoleyres lift, high on the mountain. Our chalet staff deliver you each morning to whichever lifts you choose, Medran, Savoleyres or one other which is a secret and avoids any crowds just 2 minutes from the chalet!
